Bridgestone have produced a 240/55/16 rear tyre for Suzuki, has anyone tried one ? and how would it effect speedo readings.

The tire is for one of them new M109 cruisers. It should be taller than the Metzeler but it could have a different profile so it is hard to say for sure. If taller then you will be going faster than current speedo reading (speed will read lower) and could be actually be enough to correct the stock 7% speedo error so that it reads true speed.

According to Bridgestone:
G852R BW TL fits the Suzuki Boulevard C109R 2008.

Price from MAW:
P03040084 $ 198.95 TIRE G852R-G 240/55R16

The speedo question is a little more difficult since it isn't based on tire rotation but engine RPM. That translates into the circumfrential difference created by the 240/55 aspect ratio. The circumference of the OEM based on a 240/50 is 50% of the height to width so with a 55% ratio the tire is a bit taller meaning your speedo will read slower than you are actually traveling. There is a speedo correction kit available on the market, but the price of that plus the tire, you may not be any better off. And that price is just the tire, doesn't include the mount and balance.

Just get a TuneBoy and all your woes are resolved. Correct your speedo, open up the secondaries, tune the crap of it and burn up those rear tires in 25 miles or less.

I'm resurrecting this thread 'cause I missed it the first time around and my research lead me to the same conclusion.

Although I'm extremely tempted by the dark side, Obe Wan and Yoda have persuaded me to resist. With that said any other opinions on

With the recent tire recall on the the R3T, I'm cautious about using any old tire of similar size, but the Suzy has similar performance specs as the Rocket, and the tire is rated the same as the Metz and Avon.

At $179 versus what I paid for the Metz or Avon, that's quite a saving.

I would be concerned on any bridstone product for a rocket....at least for now.... this basis the recall... they need to work out the torque issue.
Cycle gear has the metz usually in store for about 160.00, love the obi wan - yoda comment lol.

That's a shame

If it was priced right, it might have tempted me back to a normal bike tyre, will have to keep on rollin' with my £80 - 245
