My break/running light won't work.
I am getting power to the outlet, 12v (+/_)
I tested the bulb w/ a 9v battery, it works.

Neither the break light or running light will work.
Any ideas why it won't light up?

Both filaments fail - EARTH FAULT. In fact the golden rule of auto eletrics is "Until proven otherwise - electrical failures are earth faults". i.e the common earth on the holder is not connected properly to the chassis and therefore also not connected to the battery negative

+1 on the grounding fault on the sockets part.

Sorry Martina McBride was singing the national Anthem at the start of the Daytona 500 and I had to stop typing and come to attention in the living room while it was being sung.

So, clean the contacts in the housing and check, if that doesn't work, ground the housing of the socket to the chassis and test it then, I'd be willing to bet the light will then work.

OK... I got it fixed, don't know what I did, but it works again.
After checking everything else, I took the fender off and started looking for frayed wiring... Everything looked fine.
Just for the heck of it, I un-taped the wiring where the trailer hitch was wired in. It is saudered. Everything looked fine. I re-taped it.
Examined all of the wiring again... Looks fine.
I plugged in all of the connections... The lights came on...
So, I guess even though everything looked fine w/ the trailer hitch wiring, something must have been rubbing... ?
But it's all working good now.
Thanks for the help guys.
