Break Fluid change mishap

Well I finally got around to changing my break fluid, I had already bought the Dot 4 fluid and a MightyVac for the job. All went well until I was getting ready to toss the left over fluid – I didn’t use the Dot 4 I had bought for the job. I used a bottle of Valvoline Syn Power – fully synthetic, High Performance Brake Fluid – it says “Exceeds Dot 3 & Dot 4 Specs”, and Compatible with conventional break fluids on the can. Bike seems to stop just fine. Just looking for some reassurance here guys – think I’ll be OK?

Whew! thanks (breathes a sign of relief)

That is far from a mishap. A mishap is you drained the brake fluid all over your gas tank and now it looks tie-dyed. A mishap is bleeding brakes and shooting brake fluid on your 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 making one side look tie-dyed. A mishap is breaking the bleeder nipple off after getting the brakes finally bled after 6 bottles of fluid. You didn't have a mishap, you had a sting of conscience. A sting of conscience can occur when you go to a bar and your buddies buy you rounds and you forget to buy them a round (but you don't recall it until 6 months after the fact).

Being a lexical maven has its responsibilities, meaning I hate seeing words (and dogs) abused.

... But not tools...

Ok, Ok, maybe mishap wasn't the best choice of words .... I'm just glad I don't have to do it all over again. That quick saddle bag removal I learned from here came in handy - and they still look great - thanks again gents (ok, ok, maybe gents isn't the best choice either...)
