Brake away vs Throttlemeister

I've had both and i'll take the Brake-away any day over the Throttlemeister. Easy thumb on, 2 ways of disconnecting, quality built and no rolling of the wrist for any reason.

I had the breakaway. Took it across country in 2006. Had a number of adjustment problems with it. Found it a real pain until sorted out. Then when idle problem began dealer blamed the breakaway. I now know that this is false, but frankly have not put it back on either.

I just ordered a throttlemeister. I've always had cruise control on my Harley Road Kings so I'll let you know what I think when I mount it and ride it a little. It'll probably be a week or so before I get it though.

I only use it to allow my hand to relax for a little while on long trips so I won't use anything much.

I personally like my 50 cent Flipmeister Throttle Lock. If you go to the other forum and search it, you'll find the thread and the install instructions. Basically, it's a pair of black neoprene washers fitted between the bar end and the grip. The tension is adjusted by moving the switchgear casting closer or farther away from the bar ends which applies more or less tension to the washers.

Instant release (for emergency situations) is obtained by simply twisting the bar end slightly. It's flexible mount will move away from the throttle grip itself if twisted, allowing immediate closing of the throttle.

It will work on any bike with flexible bar ends and non-integral switchgear.

You can't beat the the price. 50 cents and about a half hour of your time. Compare that to the Throttlemeister or the Kayko. Send me the difference, I need the money.
Or basically what I've been telling people here since 2005. http://r3owners.com/viewtopic.php?t=612 ... ottle+lock

It's cheap and it worked just fine for me.
