Redhorse. I had problems with that **** seat lock from the day I bought my bike. Finally the dealers son had to show me how to do it. I don't like anything that takes some screwed up three hands process to work it. I disconnected my lock and now just use the rear latch.

Howdy Captains,

I remember reading a post about how to get a jammed seat lock free, I've done a bit of a search but can't remember whether it was in the "How to"
section or the "technical" or just in the"general" section.

Any pointers as to where to go would be appreciated, and be nice.

Red, can you post a link mate?

**EDIT=looks like the problem was something else, and solved  **

This has always worked for me-just like sometimes steering columns are locked, and seems like it won't budge?

Relieve the tension.

Press down hard on the rear of the seat, and it should allow it to unlock.

Add some heavy/lithium grease to the contact points, it should be easier. Also, doing it regularly helps a bit.

Let me know if this works for you.

Mine did the same thing I used a small cable tie to hold the cable in place and haven't had a prroblem since
