My first road bike in 1992 ( you guys are all so old ) was a Honda CB 125 it was the only bike my dad would let me buy because it looked sensible
It was a pile junk really a 4 stroke 2 cylinder 125 ( thinking about it ,it was bit ahead of its time really ) I can't remember how old it was when I got it but it was knackered
Only two good thing about it . it had electric start and flat out and I mean flat out it would just touch 90 and my mates 2 strokes could only mange 75 ish

The bike was rubbish but the times were good ..not in my wildest dreams could I of imagined owning and riding a 2.3 litre Rocket lll

TALK ABOUT OLD!!!.....My very first "RIDE" was one of these...i used to ride it about 10 miles to work as a young apprentice carpenter and then around the farm in the weekends. I had to stop all the bloody time on the farm to clean the mud away from under the guards with a stick so i could continue!..It used to do 25mph flat out. Every morning on the way to work, i got overtaken by a guy on a Beeza going that bloody quick, i didn't see him coming and it scared the begeezuz out of me as he went by!!...I was laying down on the tank, one foot up, one foot down cos it had push

bike pedals!!...I was cool tho!..it had "Snoopy" written on the rear mudflap!
Awww tal , bless you

"Manuka" is a native bush which grows wild. The bush flowers white in November and looks awesome and is a sign to us fisher folk that the snapper are about. Many Duck hunters make their maimai's (hides) from it, entwining it through wires.

Honey made from the Manuka flower is beautiful and sought after worldwide.

Mmmmmm Manuka honey... tis good for the body and yummy ... but bloody expensive...

In 1978 I was lucky (?) enough to get one of the few Honda CBX's that were brought to South Africa.
The engine was a madman. The chassis and suspension were just plain crazy. Not even slightly up to the task.... but it was fun to ride. Our competition back then was the mighty Kawasaki Z1000 and the insane two stroke 750 (500?) triple. The Honda couldn't beat either of them but it sure sounded good trying, and won in the looks department hands down.

I should clarify the point that i didn't have the Puch new!....but to me it didnt matter!...it was cool so that made me cool..(in my eyes)..i used to ride up and down the main street of town with one hand on my hip...real casual like! Then squint into the rain on my ride home!...Have you any idea how long it takes at those speeds ..into the rain, to cover 10 miles!...sheeesh!
