Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone has come across and used the "big blue" bike lift? It lifts and drops using a screw driven by a drill

The company is UK based but also has distributors in the US, Canada and Australia...looks like a good product to me albeit a little pricey at just under £400! Maybe if enough are interested in this sort of thing we could try and arrange a cheaper bulk buy or get a discount arranged through the site maybe?

Further to the above I got a better quality pic, it attaches as follows:

They have said they will ship for free for forum members saving £30, but I assume this is just for UK shipping, I can ask if need be for overseas but I bet that's a little bit trickier as it will be a seperate company selling the goods no doubt...

I've got one..special adapters came with it at extra cost just for the Rocket..and it will not work with an electric drill, let alone a battery operated one..maybe a 1/2" drill, but I don't have one..I use a ratchet..and it's a pita to set up..I wanna sell mine because I'm moving..

Interesting concept there. To look at it, you'd think the base is too narrow to keep form nosing over when you removed a wheel.
I'm looking for a new lift, but ****, that's a lot of $$$.

the bike is sturdy when up on the lift, but it's not worth the money to me..if I was doing it over, I would use the adapter brackets that skip had made for us (I've still mine) along with a pitbull jack or the other one like it..can't remember the name of that one..the one advantage of the blue jack is that you can lift it up really high if needed..

The friend who I used to take my Harley to for service used a Big Blue style (made in UK but red color) for many years until his business got going. He now has three Handy table lifts and they each have a bike on them at all times. I had never seen one until I saw it in the corner of his shop one day. He told me he used it for many years with absolutely no issues and demonstrated it by lifting a Road King. Needing one I tried to buy it from him on the spot but he had just sold it to one of his other customers. I bought a cheapie China Shop (Harbor Freight) table lift instead. One of the good things about a lift like this is that it is lightweight and portable. It does have obvious restrictions.

I have one that I use for my trike and I love it. No more crouching, kneeling or bending for me thanks. You do need a fairly powerful drill though.

Mark, I'm not far from you, I live in Botesdale. If you'd like to see it in action you welcome to pop by.

Back in Denver, I have two buddies that have lifts like this one that they use to work on their bikes and store them out of the way when not riding. They seem to work well and there are several different brands out there that do the same thing. Of course if one needs to get to the other side of the bike while lifted, you either have to reposition the bike or just suck it up...
