Bags

Thanks Tully. Seems like you just made that guy busy. I just ordered a set too. Thanks for the info and I'll let you know how they work. It DOES beat spending $800.00 more for garbage. Sam

Any all leather, non-reinforced bag will sag a bit. It is just the nature of them. I was initially skeptical about the Triumph leather bags but after a year and almost 12K miles I like them. They are cavernous, have not leaked even in driving rain and liners made for Gold Wings fit quite nicely. I'm going to give the Flipmeister inserts a try. They are designed for our bags and the price is right. I'll order them and post some feedback.

You said it better Todd. +1

Regulator has a nice set for sale. Someone should grab them.

Bags

I've been riding for abut 40 years and most of the bikes I have owned have been with SADDLE bags that held up quite well for a minimum of 3 years. I bought these Triumph bags 3 years ago and at the time, at least for the first year they were presentable. In the last two, they have morphed into duffle bags and are an absolute disgrace. This ain't perception, this is reality. I have ordered the supports mentioned on this site and hopefully these will improve an inferior product. My Rocket III is a joy.

I made a pair of aluminium trays that sit in the bottom of my bags. It has stopped the leather sagging onto the exhaust pipes. It cost me 10 minutes of work time and 1 broken jigsaw blade.
