Bad axle seal?

Maybe I'm blind, I don't see anything that looks abnormal...

Looks like axle grease.

I don't think there is a seal there (I could be wrong), just a bearing and some grease on the axle, it's gonna seep.

I think you're seeing normal break-in stuff. It heats up, grease expands and squirts out.

Wait till your bevel box burps, then you'll freak.

Will the axle bearings are sealed juggs is right your probably seeing the excess grease the put on the axle when they slide it in. There is a dust seal down there. to give you a Idea they use enogh that I have not had to drease my axle when I remove the tire in over 40K miles.

Ok, just wanted to check. You guys have had these for awhile. I'm not attuned to their idiosyncrasies as of yet.

Thanks!

Kindest regards,

What is the world is a "bevel box burp"? Holy crap!........

On your bevel box (left side of bike, the big thing that your rear wheel is attached to), there is a little chrome mushroom on top.

If it gets hot enough (and it will), it will burp out some oil and it'll run down the side of the bevel box and you'll freak out and think something is wrong.

It's not, this is by design.

ya but I see you spell pretty good for a retired ground pounder :D
Had to stick that in as the boy is coming home this week to visit prior to going to Korea. I know its not the sand but then we have had ride for soldier's who died in Iraq that were stationed in Germany. I sure hope he don't come home in a pine box :?
