Back on a bike again soon...from Illawarra, NSW Australia

@MickyB congratulations on your new purchase. Glad the test ride was as expected and more and the deal is done. I reckon we have been lucky to secure a couple of cracker bikes this week. That Black 08 RIII of yours is something else and I look forward to seeing it again.

Went for my test ride yesterday as well and absolutely loved it. Really liked the boards and the pulled back bars of the Classic were comfortable. 'Stupid Grin'. Then the bombshell was dropped. Due to a miscommunication at the dealership, the rego that expired in March wasn't renewed. I should have picked it up when they threw a trade plate on it for the test ride. No blue slip, CTP and at 12 O'Clock yesterday (RMS closed), I was never bringing 'my bike' home. 2 hrs up and 2hrs back (bikeless) was really disappointing.

However, the bike is now getting 12mths rego and is being transported to my door in the next few days (with a full tank of fuel). Not the end of the world, but you (all) know how excited I was.
Bugger FSB, but it'll be worth the wait....

Congrats on the purchase and on making the right choice. The owner of a Triumph dealership I frequent always took a Rocket as a demo for the summer. When the Storm came out a few years ago, he took it instead. I asked him for an honest comparison and he stated that he was going back to the Rocket. The fun factor was just too high with it.

Nice choice and have fun.....

Congrats to both you blokes on your new bikes.

FSB, crap bout the reg thing. Good thing is, 12 months free reg. Thats a win even though the cost is a couple more days without the rocket.

Hey Gregger. Thanks for the msg. Yes I have ridden both and 2 very different bikes. The R3 just has something doesnt it that makes you want one. Once I rode it I was convinced. Look fwd to its arrival in next day or two.

Hi All. As the title of this thread says 'Back on a bike again soon', Ive just got off the phone from the transporter and my R3C will be here within the hour. Stupid grin.
How does one control themselves........ a Rocket is being delivered to your door!!!!! You might want to have a couple just to calm the old nerves.

Just like Xmas used to be (when we were 6 y.o ).. enjoy but take your time, savour the moment and don't open her up all at once.

I am probably getting a reputation for being "Mr Caution" but if you are a returning rider be aware that the Rocket is not a "toy", she will demand respect! Of course when you are comfortable with her "bigness" (size, power and glory!) you will find her to be the best bike ever made and easy to ride.

Enjoy and congratulations
