Australia's convict past

Hardly trivial - I mean!.
Should be applied to

Being in possession of an offensive wife
Wearing a loud shirt after hours
Walking on the cracks in the pavement

And pretty much anything else I can think of that may or may not annoy me - but which I feel to be right at the time.....
quite trivial... 19-year-old David Freeman in 1818, after he was sentenced to transportation for life for stealing a handkerchief:

Millions of people around the world enjoy freedom due in large part to American weapons and the sacrifice of American warriors.
They are not living in slave labor camps speaking Japanese or German. It's great to voice opinions in ENGLISH.

Sadly much they fought for is in decline. Your grand kids will be speaking CHINESE.

A used one, I assume - thieving little b'stad - A new one and he'd have been hung.

We only sent the to Australia because those scheming buggers dumped tea in a river - Or Australia would have remained virgin - So the REAL culprits here are the Americans.

You need to study history. Most of the USA did not wish to take any part in WW2 - And America only narrowly avoided being German speaking by vote early in it's history.

Of course - Americans don't actually speak English anyway.

Exactly how many traffic accidents are there?

FYI -
Interestingly in 2013 there were 32,719 traffic fatalities, 10.345 per 100,000 population.
In 1937 there were 37,819 fatalities, 29.357 per 100,000 population!

No lesson needed. My grandfather was a post commander in the American Legion 1936-1938, they lobbied for a constitutional amendment to prevent the US from foreign involvements. He knew the horror of war having been wounded in WWI. My father was in basic at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack and served the entire war. (You couldn't sell him a Japanese car)
Seventy one years ago my father-in-law was trying to survive on Omaha Beach. Recently he was offered a trip to France, he declined, stating his only interest would be paying his respects at the graves of buddies. Hope all Americans have a great 4th of July Independence Day!!!!!

Always led to believe the First Fleet convicts were selected for their "skills" .. carpenters, masons, farmers etc. Truth is the ones to arrive had no skills whatsoever to "build" anything. They were predominantly city dwelling petty criminals and Irish political insurgents. The women who accompanied them were hardly mother material , most were prostitutes or servant class caught stealing from the gentry. Makes what they did upon arrival even the more incredible ... accept for a number of the Irish who refused to assist the British authorities no matter what punishment was inflicted upon them.
