You know I don't think that I am asking for much. All I want is a cruzer that has all the good stuff like, bags, fairing, cruz, back rest, hiway pegs, tunes, you know the good stuff AND still be able to run 150 mph when I feel the need for speed and I'm needing my adrenaline fix for the day. Is that asking too much?
I received the triple filters from Flip and received the unlock key fromTuneboy last night . Now I have to go to Tulsa for 2 days for work and won't be home till Friday evening. This means that I won't be able to install the filters and the T/B tunes untill Saturday morning.
Brian, better known as Pig9R, is going to send me a couple of tunes to try out on the TuneBoy that Ken, better known as Stripes, was so nice to sell me.
I already have the PCIII and will install the tune for trips in it to start with. Then I am going to try some of the tunes that Brian sends me. I will be out doing test runs and seeing which one I like best to start with. Then I am going to make an appointment at the dyno over in Tulsa.
From what I am hearing, the best way to get the most out of the bike is to remove the PCIII, install a base T/B tune for my current set up. Re install the PC III and take to the dyno and have them fine tune everything using the PCIII. Then transfere that map from the PCIII into the T/B. Remove the PCIII an install CUSTOM map from the T/B into the bike. At that time I will have the best of both worlds they tell me.
I have used these boys over in Tulsa last year when they helped me rejet my valk I had. I called them last week and let them know I was coming over and I wanted to bring my T/B so we could do some comparisons between the two. I think it would be pretty cool if I could dyno the bike first using the PCIII only. Record the final numbers then do what I described above and then compare. Hopefully I can afford the dyno time. Tulsa Cycle Supply is the shop there on the east side of town and they have exspressed an intrerest in maybe getting set up with T/B for some of there other customers. If it works out maybe they wont charge me for all of the dyno time. We will see and I will keep you guys posted on the out come.
You know the only reason that I am jumping thru so many houps is to remove the top end speed limiter that my bike has. I figure sense I am going to have to have a T/B to accomplish this, I just as well go all the way and get the full benifet from having a T/B.
Time will tell this story and let me know if doing all this is worth it.
