I want to grease the rear needle bearing while its down for the winter. It says to use castrol grease in the service manual. Whats your thoughts about using castrol pyroplex red ep2. If there is a better grease?
Thanks

I've just used auto parts store moly grease- I haven't worried about it, maybe as much as I should, as compared to greasing the final drive splines, for example.

As far as the brand, Triumph bounces around with its favored lubricants. I think it changes according to business/price partnerships with companies.

I was thinking about doing the splines as well, it doesn't seem that hard. Thanks

Give it a go- first time is hardest, depending on what the bolts do....

 Looks lovely....

On the final drive the potential "problem" is that the nuts are heavy duty locktited on and the studs will sometimes back out of the drive. I go into that in my post. If I were to do it again I would heat up those nuts first to encourage them to free up first. Either way, sounds like you'll have no problem

Sounds like a good job to use an induction coil on. Ill keep that in mind.

Did the needle bearings today. Thanks @mo8414 for the pics and tips. Magnets worked good after a wd spray. I took a pic of the cocked seal. That's how it was. Not sure if it worked out, or was just installed quick by a careless bloke.

Glad it worked out for ya. I cant really see it working its way out with how tight mine was in there but you never know.

96,000 miles on my 2020 GT. Never touched them. So far so good.
