Nah, I want to shorten it so the bike does not sit up so much.

you could just put a bit heat on it and put a bit of a bend in it up high (so discolouration wont be as visible) near to where mounts to the engine

I was planing on re powder coating when I have other stuff to paint.
Good idea tho.

Haven't noticed mine sticking out further.
At least not far enough to catch on anything.
Guess it depends on just how much ya bend it.
I heated mine up down by the "foot" without removing the stand from the bike.
had it sticking out so I could lean the bike over and get it just right...
It'll definitely screw up the chrome tho,
but plasti-dip works wonders.
