Exhaust clamp torque specs?

I have tightened the muffler clamps on my new Vandemon exhaust a few times since installing it. They do not provide any instructions whatsoever and have not yet responded to my email asking this. I'm talking about the 2 clamps securing the pipe assembly to each muffler. The system is made out of...

I've been looking at the Vandemon's. I'll probably wind up getting them. ....Not even having the bike yet, can you tell me if I can get the Vandemon headers and reuse the stock right side mufflers with them? Or are the stock mufflers part of the cat box? And just made to look separate? Seems like $2700 for the whole Vandemon experience, even with "cheap" stainless headers.
 
The stock exhaust/cat assembly is one unit and the separation between so called mufflers is an illusion. It's a completely different design from Vandemon which come with right/left side real mufflers and none of the components are interchangeable. The "basic" kit I got without the bi-modal option is $1800 plus shipping and well worth it. You can get the Werkes which look like a janky tack on for $1200 and be left with a gaping hole on the left side and Zard does not work with any kind of panniers. The Vandemons look like they belong on the bike even more so than stock in my opinion and much better in person than in pics/vids none of which do the awesome super deep bassy sound any justice. I will most likely stick with the stock headers since I have no intention of removing the tank to maintain a DNA oiled air filter. I already have the Penner tune which turned my Rocket into an entirely different beast and any gains I might get from headers/air filter at this point would probably be negligible. But if you're into drag racing etc then that might be for you as well as a cutom dyno tune.
 
Thanks for the info. I kind of figured that was the way it was. With the cat box and mufflers all one. I'll probably do the same as you and get the Vandemons. Agree the other options just don't look good. Or sound good. I found a vid that has all the aftermarket exhaust options. and even through the laptop speakers the werkes sound tinny. I plan to get a tune as well. but I think I'll have to spring for the BT Moto one. Since I'm fairly computer illiterate, and the Penner seems daunting. All I have is a Chromebook, so I cant even check my PCV maps for my 1290. I just got a pre installed map from Rottweiler performance where I bought it. If there are any other options than the Brent tune, I'd love to hear. $900 is a lot after the bike purchase. And Vandemons looming on the budget horizon. BTW, did you get the Vandemons from Bills exhaust? I don't see any other distributors.

It's looking like a '24 GT right now. They have a '23 with 350 miles and no history of where the miles are from. $19k for the new '24 and $18k for the '23. I don't want a demo as you know with these bikes people want to see what they do with no consideration about break in period. If it was a low mile trade in that might be different. I like the '23 colors better though. They also have a all black '24 brand new for $18.5k. If I got that one I'd probably paint it competition green sooner or later. After I determined if the bike was for me. (first cruiser). I missed out on a super Craig's list deal. A '22 with 1100 miles and a corbin seat and 2 jurock windshields for $14500. A guy my age (67) with two other bikes that never rode it. Still pissed about that. ....I'm in Ct. and NY. ...I've been on Adv rider .com for 20 years and still get annoyed when people don't list their location. ha ha. I'll fix that now. It helps with a lot of questions. This pic is from a test ride of a '23 they want $19k for. Another dealer has a '24 for the same price.

I wonder if using Vandemons headers would give any extra clearance to the "drag link" or whatever it is hitting? Maybe they design in a small bit of length or something to account for that? Sorry for the multiple posts, and you may have got the clamps good and tight by now, but a side effect of exhaust leaks is popping on decel. Which seems inherent in these bikes. But may have contributed to the extra noises you heard after the install. I'm hoping it quieted down for you. I don't wear ear plugs, and your review makes me a little nervous. ha ha
 
Decel pops are normal on these bikes even with everything stock they are more angry with the tune and louder with the new slip on.

Most new bikes being sold now have it due to the clean air emission standards requiring saecondary air injection to burn off the unspent fuel in the exhaust stream. A lot of the folks with Bonnevilles removed the SAI and put block off plates in just to quell the popcorn deceleration on thse units with aftermarket pipes.
