Not sure any of you will remember but some back I posted about my old friend and nemesis putting a 113 cu. inch engine in his HD softail. I was a little concerned. We've been playing "king of the hill" with motorcycles since we we're in our teens. Apparently it wasn't $hit, cause we've ridden together several times and he never provoked the beast. One thing I do know is that it doesn't handle well as I can take him mid corner on the inside and I'm no knee dragger. Anyway last winter he bought another softail slightly chopped and put in a Ultima El Bruto 127 cu. inch. engine. That engine puts out 140 h.p. and 140 ft. lbs. of torque (numbers sound familiar ?). I've never had mine on a dyno but it sounds like I could be in trouble here. Is he trying to FORCE me to get a carpenter bike ? Thoughts ?

:roll:Don't think he is trying to get you to buy a carpenter kit Fred. I think he is just waisting his money

Those numbers sound impressive. But with just bolt on parts you can get over 160/160, but I'm not sure what the weight difference is but he might give you a run. Only one way to find out :D

If he really wants a HD that handles well in corners, then he'd be better off with a something in the Dyna line. I've always heard the FXR has always been the frame for people that want to race their HD.

I could be somewhere close to that now, I have triple K & N's, cat delete, Maddog exhaust, secondaries removed and a good tune.

Hey, if that's the excuse you need to go for the Carpenter treatment, have at it!
Let me know when it's done. I want take yours for a ride before I decide to spend the bucks. :D

ask him also how much dineros he spent for that motor!! you will be surprised .. you can buy two R3 for the price of that motor

They are around $6500.00. You could definitely find a nice R3 for that price. I think he, like many HD riders think Rockets are expensive like a Ducati or something. He really likes my R3, I'm surprised he hasn't looked into one, he was always a British rider when we were young. He doesn't do computers so he is in the dark about a lot of things.
