Herman is correct (as usual) you will have brakes, but NO ABS if the light is on.
You need to either have a dealer bleed the ABS or get the "Dealer Tool" and do it yourself.

My ABS saved me from a 20mph low side just an hour ago. Slick dirty spot of road and they kicked on with only moderate pedal pressure in a round about!! Love me some ABS!!

You may have a bent ABS ring. Have you removed any wheels lately (tyre change??) those rings bend easy but also bends back easy. Put bike on an atv jack to rotate wheels to see if the ring is bent.

The light will come on and stay on until you have achieved a certain speed after the bike is started. Have you rode the bike?

goimg to put it in the dealers i got it from,the end of the day i payed for the service when i paid over the odds for the bike.

ok,
went to the dealers blade stratford this morning ,found out its the eletrical cable in the abs had been caught on the left hand side ,it had come of its cable tie/bracket just under the top yolk.
they done a repair but i said i want a new piece put back in,they said ok.
will have to book it in again,so check your cable how its routed.
hope this makes sense to you all.
