Abs or not??????

So you were riding your bike thinking it had ABS and it didn't? you didn't check the manual? or ask the dealer? or look at the front of the bike?
ABS.
146 hp
Scary fast

all things I was told by the salesman when I bought the bike. None of which were true.
Still have not read the manual.
Should of..... without question tried a panic stop before I needed to do one.....

Think that salesman's face needs smearing on the pavement

Not sure about it to be honest.

That was in Daytona ,
I hoped he was right about the scary part.
and had no reason to question him about the brakes, I had told him my VTX had linked brakes, that is when he said the R3 were not linked but had ABS.

It was bike week when I bought the bike, for all I know that salesman was selling cookware the week before.....

The local dealer here in NY, just picked up Triumph, and I have found a lacking in their knowledge about the bike to be just as bad.

I guess it comes with buying a bike not ridden by the masses... but I am ok with that, that is why I have it.

The back of my bike has a liking to come around on the right side with the back wheel locked up. I have in fact practiced it a lot now so I know what to expect.

He was quoting you the Roadster spec.
The back brake is very sharp for this type of bike (I learnt that by getting spat off) so you are right to have practised using it (less is more!). I have found that since I went darkside its much more stable.
Fit a gipro and watch her fly!

Being I got just over 5000 miles out of the rear Metz. I am considering a go at the darkside. I guess the only way to know is to try...

Upgrades for performance are also planned for this year.

I agree. Also being darkside, it has saved my butt more than once. Not only does it slide straight, there is more rubber contact. I'm running a General 235/60/16 and love it. But, on the performance side, it weighs about twenty pounds more than a metz.

This is sad. I posted on Triumph Facebook Page the question if the 2012 R3T really had ABS. They said they would get back tp me........ 3Days ago. OK, I am pleading with you guys. If anyone has a dealer with a 2012 R3T, could you physically look at the rotors and see if it has ABS?

Argh!!! It shouldn't be this hard. Maybe I should just forget about buying a Rocket. After all, if the Manufacturer doesn't know what they sell, it might be a sign of bigger issues I will have later........................... like PARTS!

Just sayin'

Ill be going down to my dealer today or monday to pick up a part for my bike ill have a look and ask the question when im there

OK was just down at moto arena on the gold coast and they told me that the 2012 rocket 3 touring definitely has ABS as standard as well as the roadster. all previous models of the touring do not
hope this helps

I thought about the Dark side. I put one on a Wing I just sold and liked it pretty good. Does the Car tire help prevent rear lockup? I was running the Kuhmo Run Flat.
Running a HANKOOK 225/55/16 you do have more rubber on the road the ride is a whole lot better and if you do decide to lock it up it does slide straight with the Metzler you have a tendency to come around I kind of prefer straight
