went to the garage to warm the bike. Turn key, flip kill switch and push starter. Only a clicking noise. Oh no I think. Problems. So I take off seat, unhook battery, clean connections. Still the "click." Drat, so I meter battery. Voltage actually rises when click is heard? Strange, so I enter this wonderful site and read through 3 threads regarding the dreaded "click". In the third one, member ( @cr0ft ) mentions holding the clutch in. Immediately I realize I am a moron! Starts right up and runs fine. Perhaps I have been waiting for a shoe to drop with this bike since I love it so much, now I'm creating my own problems. Too bad there isn't an emoji for kicking ones self in the rear.

Join the club..... My HD Road King has a on/off switch. Guess what happens when you leave the switch on position "off" when ya turn the ignition switch on, and hit the start button. Only took me an hour to figure that one out.... that, after owning the bike for two years

There are two kinds of concrete: that which has cracked, and that which is gonna.

There are two kinds of sailboats: them that have run aground, and them that are gonna

There are two kinds of motorcycle riders: them that have forgot the kickstand was down, and . . . well only one kind in that case.

Kickstand down.
My learning curve was to remember to put the kickstand up BEFORE putting her in gear. Have done that one...well lets just say more than once
Mine was from parking on an incline, so I left it in gear when I killed the motor, so it wouldn't try to roll. When I got back to the bike and she wouldn't start my turrets acted up.
