Hi all,
Finally, some pictures. The first is near a dam in the Mourne Mountains. This was the first stop with the Thunderbird.
The road we are parked on has quite an optical illusion. The road to the fence looks down hill from the motorcycle. As we were parked, a car pulled up and the driver said, “Watch this!” He drove to the gate, shut the engine off and put the car in neutral. The car rolled past us appearing to be going up hill. He stopped and said that some locals believe Leprechauns sneak out and push the car up hill.
Here is a wider road in rural Ireland. Not much forgiveness on the right with the rock wall.
The left has a bit of shoulder room, then there was a fence with brush grown up through it.
A picture looking across the bay showing the fields on the hill side. Scenes like this were common on the ride.
The Thunderbird in the front, with Sam, Anna, Jane and me standing behind. A bike is sweet ride, Anna and Sam are excellent people to work with and my wife is a good co-rider.
When we do this sort of thing again we will pack our own helmets (then we have intercom) and we will rent the nav system.
Later,
Jerry
