93 octane

Not quite that cheap mate. US gallons. Works out at about $1.02 - $1.05 a litre. Still a big difference though.

yeah that'll teach me for thinking I could do mental maths before having any caffeine on a Friday morning

the cheapest i remember is around 55c/lt which must have been when I started driving in 1990

I remember 35c a gallon!

Back in the 70's, I remember 21.9 cents a gl. at a pump it yourself station, boy that's along time ago.

been running 93 the whole time I now most say we dont need it but thats what I run and it seems to like it

I phoned Triumph USA about this a few years back because the original specs said 89 but later specs said 87 (Ron/Mon). He said that 87 was fine unless it pings. However, if you have had your bike tuned with a higher grade then that is another thing.

I generally run premium, but only because it is the only ethanol free gas available around here. I don't need no stinking ethanol. Away from home I generally buy 87, never really noticed any difference in the way it ran between the 2.

Premium doesn't have any more energy in it than regular. It just has additives that help prevent pre-ignition in high compression engines. I've noticed mine will ping a little riding two up if I run 87. It doesn't if I run 89. I'll have to check with blastedbones. He developed the tune I'm running, and see if the timing was advanced some.
