you do not even get the hinge effect that you will get with a bike tyre that has just done a large amount of mile/kilometres on the freeway or Humeboradrome (my nickname for the Hume Higthway) which will have caused a flat centre which then feels like you have a hinge in your tyre the first twisty bit of road you hit.

My "Neumatico de Turismo" is actually pretty well rounded now anyway. Might as well be a M/C tyre. What definitely makes a difference is a narrower front.

Actually, it is not a car tyre - it is a passenger vehicle tyre. (At least that is what they are called in the USA.) My motorcycle is a passenger vehicle and so I have run passenger tyres on it for the last 100,000+ miles. It works for me but it doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

Thanks to Canberra's explanation, it makes sense now. If a person is not as accomplished or secure in their abilities, the PV tire is assumed more dangerous.

I am to a point in my life where I don't have to pinch pennies.....Two Rockets and a Valkyrie.... All roadworthy and all PV tires on back (passenger vehicle). I run passenger vehicle tires for performance and safety.

So that would make me not very accomplished and insecure in my abilities. Fu*k you would think I would have accomplished something and be a bit more secure in my abilities at the age of 50 with over 43 years of riding experience with motorcycle tyres on motorcycles.
I've never brought into this M.C. v C.T. thing because I have never run a C.T. and never will. But now Stripes has a go at my ability all I have to say is I've gone through corners in second gear with my arse off the seat trying to get my weight down as low as I can and the peg rail grinding away. I fail to see how anyone can corner faster than that on a Rocket no matter what tyre they run. Then again someone with my low standard of accomplishment and lack of ability probably don't know much about motorbikes.

These guys that ride with car tyres have obviously done a lot of research and invested copies amounts of money to come up with there decissions.youd think they would have got in touch with triumph and recommended a car tyre instead

Not to mention all the insecure riders with little ability getting around at the Isle of Man. I can only marvel at how fast they'd go if only they were good enough to run a car tyre. I'm embarrassed now that I know what people who see me with a motorcycle tyre on my motorcycle will be thinking. I can see now that I really should have watched Star Wars so I could base more of my life on it.

....totally agree. I now realise that I am so insecure in my ability on car tyres that I'm going straight out tomorrow and whack 4 Metz 240/55 16's on my ute.

You can't put motorcycle tyres on a car. That would be illegal - because they are labelled for motorcycles, a subset of passenger vehicles. I will give credence to the racing bike anaoly when Toyota starts supplying the Camry with the same tyres that they use for NASCAR, or Holden starts fitting the same tyres they use at Bathurst on their Commodes.

Some prefer one type of tyre, others prefer a different one. Ya pays ya money and ya takes ya chances.
