I treated the old girl for her 3rd birthday. Been waiting for the Triumph oil tank embelisher since Feb. Finally arrived. A bit tinny compared to the original peice but certainly lighter and now the Harley brigagade have no doubts she means business.

Cheers Mav.
PS. She lives on a stable diet of 88cu Harleys.

close ups

I'd like some real close ups and descriptions of exactly what you did with your bearclaw. I think it looks sweet.

Thanks for sharing with us.

I picked one of those up.. I think in March from our new dealer here. I was already thinking of making my own 140 cubic inch embellisher when I saw Triumph coming out with it.. :) Looks much better than "Fuel Injection" on an oil tank.. :)

Thanks for the compliments. I have posted some close ups on the bearclaw. I did the filter mod as per Pig9 instructions. I decided to keep the bear claw. I used a fine tooth metal cutting jig saw blade. I put tape along edge so not to mark chrome and cut about 1 inch of bottom of the claw following the original out line. I wanted to accentuate the triple intake manifold so then applied tape out lining the area to paint. I used a wet and dry sand paper to ectch the chrome a litle then use a spray can of auto gloss black enamel and applied 3 coats.
I did leave the radiator over flow bottle in its origional position. From the side its bottom edge was exposed slightly after cutting the claw so I used a large permanent mark pen to colour the corner so it blends in.

Cheers mav
