12V aux power socket

1. Bend the center contacts in the socket inward, as they're too loose. They need to grip the center contact to help keep the adapter in the socket. WARNING: If the socket is live, such as the optional aux socket on the Rocket 3, don't use anything conductive to do this or, better yet, disconnect the battery first.
2. Bend the radial contacts on the adapter itself outward a bit. I just use my fingernail.
3. Use an adapter that's shorter and lighter. The Cllena and similar adapters are nice but they're long and heavy. On the other hand, the Optimate O-105 & O-114, and especially the "Kewig Aluminum DIN Hella Plug", are shorter and lighter.

I found that the adapter stops working periodically while riding. When it happens I jiggle/twist the adapter in the socket and then it works again -- until the next time that it stops working. I suspect that the adapter breaks it connection either from vibration, or when the road surface is poor (bumpy). Any ideas for a resolution?

If you look inside at the middle of the 12v socket there’s 2 metal spring clips (for want of a better expression) which grab the central nipple on your usb hella connector. All you need to do is bend them in slightly with a screwdriver (ignition off) and you’ll get a tight fit, did this on mine works perfectly
