12V accessory

Not sure about the 09, but I think it's an accessory on earlier models, and probably for your's too. Most just go to local auto parts and install a US version of the accessory/cigarette lighter on the left side if they haven't relocated the ignition switch there...

Also it's better to install a fuse block off the battery to do add ons rather than just nest everything to the positive terminal.
 
Thanks. I do have a fuse block I never installed on my Valkyrie so if I can't find a p;ug I will do that. If I have one it would be under one of the side covers? Do they just pop off? Thanks again.....
 
On my 05 Standard, just ahead of the left cover there's plastic bit behind the engine with a perfect round raised section that I'v seen a pic of where some put an all weather version? Otherwise my manual states there is an accessory socket, identified as key #21 on page 18.25, 18.25. I'm not conversant in electrical diagrams, and do not know where it is on the bike.

Some versions I've heard (touring?)can lose side covers at very high rate of speed, but mine are bolted on. Remove seat, remove screws, lift off mounting posts. On the right you need to dislocate/ disengage the seat lock.

Even though you have the Tourer the location of the hole for the socket is the same. On the 09 it was still an accessory - may be standard on the dressed 10&11 models.

Your seat is held on with 3 socket head bolts (2 sizes) - don't need to pull saddlebags just open lid to get to the 2 on side.
 
I have a 2010 R3T, it stymied me at first, I was looking under the side cover, there is a plug in under the plastic piece just forward of the side cover, but it's only 15 amp. Let me look if I deleted the pic I took, or saved it. I got an accessory plug hookup for that, but for my heated gear I ran leads right to the battery from the controller. Pashnit, where I bought it, was very helpful, we exchanged a few emails to get what I wanted down.
Shoot, all my pics were of the wrong plug under the side case, LOL. I think this is the one that fits it, one slot is 90 degrees from the other.
