1/8mi drag race Touring vs the GT

Good luck Kev
Hey can you give me any tips on setting up rear, im thinking make it tight with only 1/2in sag. No guess what launching the big girl will be like, im running a mt90 bias ply on front and am gonna drop front end down low trying to prevent a flight to mars. But any tips i appreciate. Ive never launched a bike with a drag slick. HB11 compound, says moderate burnout to warm up, outside temps 67, cloudy, track may get to 75 or 80, just a guess on that. Thanks Jerry

Kevin I would recommend Brocks Performance for suspension setup.

In general: Your sag is about right you could go to 9/16 inch tops.

It should take about 3.5 seconds for the rear to come back up (rebound) when when fully compressed. You want a smooth rear end squat and return. You'll get better weight transfer and less bouncing

I've never run a drag slick but I know you'll need to do a burnout to get the tire to operating temperature. You should be able use more power on the launch without wheel spin.

On the front most drag racers will use softer preload than normal street riding. Softer rebound will help the bike bouncing especially during shifting.

I guess you could strap the front end and preload the suspension preventing the forks extending and help on the wheelies. The strap compresses the forks and makes less likely to lift under hard acceleration and keeps more weight on the rear for better traction. Of course with strapping you don't have any front suspension going down the strip.

Personally I think your running in a different world than I do with my bikes. I'd go with Brocks Performance he has some excellent videos on setting up front and rear suspensions if my memory is right.

HD week at bowling green. Going full bagger mode to represent the baddest baggers on the planet, The triumph rocket touring, with one little surprise.
Didn't realize they were still in business. Back in the day they produced the best slicks in the business. Big company Goodyear later took control. Truthfully, I never tried Goodyears.
