  1. Triumph Quit Ignoring Your Ignition Problems

I just got back from a trip to the Tail of the Dragon. I drove around 400 miles to get there and I made 1.5 passes on the Dragon when I made a U-turn at the overlook and it died. I had to send word for help because cell service is nonexistent in the mountains. Two hours later waiting in the 95...
  2. Triumph Dragon Raid June 22-28 2009

You do have to make your own reservations. I believe the Iron Horse campground is allowing the Triumph owners to have first dibs until January. Then they open up reservations to everyone else. You can monitor the message board at britrider.com for the latest.
  3. Triumph Dragon Raid June 22-28 2009

Just wanted to let everyone know our RAT pack is trying to organize a Raid at the Dragon. For more info go to: www.BritRider.com site dedicated to riding Triumph motorcycles. The group is staying at the Iron Horse Campground - Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge near Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway...
  4. Tuneboy, O2 Sensor, Check engine light.

I bought Jardine pipes and loaded the tune from tuneboy for Jars and triple filters. I unchecked the box for the O2 sensor in Tuneboy and unplugged it and have a check engine light. Questions: 1. Do I need a O2 bypass/delete plug? 2. If the check engine light is on does that mean it is...
  5. HP ratings for mods

Interesting this should come up because I was thinking about this today. Assuming there is a cat bypass installed... Is there much difference between TORS and Jardines? TORS and drilled out stock mufflers? (no endcap or packing) Undertank K&N and triple K&Ns? I thought maybe someone...
  6. Fender Rails/Covers & Sissy bar

When I bought my Rocket I knew my wife would not ride on the back without a sissy bar installed, so I had dealer install one when I picked it up. My Question is: Did they take off any parts like the fender support covers that I would need to convert it back to a single seat without a sissy bar...
  7. Swapping Classic and regular Rocket seats

Does the bracket support much of anything? From your video it doesn't look like it. Seems like it just locates the seat and keeps it from twisting. Would anyone have a bracket laying around that might be parted with? Good pictures BTW
  8. Swapping Classic and regular Rocket seats

I was looking a putting a Classic seat on a regular Rocket
  9. Swapping Classic and regular Rocket seats

Hopefully this is an easy one. If you remove the seat of a regular Rocket, will the one piece classic seat snap back in it's place? If not, what do you need?
  10. Is this a Rocket?

Looks like a Rocket to me!
  11. New R3 Owner Questions

Sounds like you are a Rocket owner. Congrats!:p
  12. Thruxton like handlebars for the R3?

That's the ones. I wouldn't want to ride with them without having rearsets. I was just thinking about how one would "sport up" a Rocket and make it more like what I feel is it's little brother, the Speed Triple. I think it would also be good to drop some weight by making the tank smaller. I'm...
  13. Thruxton like handlebars for the R3?

Seems like I remember seeing someone selling sportbike handlebars for the rocket. The look like the ones that come on a Thruxton. Two separate short straight bars. Anyone have or know what I'm talking about?
  14. ouch! new tire

I will be sticking to the original tire. The bike is designed so well and why mess with it. Unless it makes it faster. After reading these postings it occured to me. We change tire twice as much as oil! Don't seem right...
  15. Brake light stays on

I have the same problem. I thought maybe I was letting my foot hit the rear brake but I don't think so. My wife has complained about it and this weekend the rider behind me at the RAID complained about it. It's hard to know cause you can't see it. Everytime I get off and check it, it seems just...
  16. Rocket wheels

I would be worried about weight. On most of my English cars I have had, the wires were the heaviest. They do provide plenty of air for cooling the brakes and the quickness of pulling off the wheel by only undoing one nut. The Rocket's rear wheel is pretty heavy already so I might not want wires...
  17. Your bike before your rocket.

I started 2 years ago on a Kawasaki 800 Vulcan Classic and also spent some time on a 250 Ninja that I bought the wife. The Vulcan is where I learned to ride and the Ninja showed me that a bike that handles well is great fun. Knowing that I hot rod EVERYTHING like Tim the Toolman Taylor, I had to...
  18. Fuel consumption and exhaust systems

Should it be clarified that with a new exhaust you need to change the tune with Tuneboy or something? Are these mileage figures only with a change in pipes? And does the type of tune have more effect on mileage? I haven't had a chance to test the mileage with a new tune and a bypass but I used...
  19. Triumph Pannier Mounting?

Do Triumph's panniers come with all that is required to mount them. AND are they a fairly easy on and off proposition. I was thinking of getting a set and use them on longer trips but not for everyday commuting.
  20. Tuneboy

Correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't seen any connection between idle problems and Tuneboy. It maybe the uninformed user or someone who doesn't respect the consequences of the changes. I would imagine Tuneboy users may show a higher frequency of tire replacement. Just a guess.
