And if there's a surplus of buckles, I'd be happy to "buy in" and we sell them on e-bay.
Thanks again. R

...has several bike-specific leather saddlebag designs. They cost me about $250. The quality was very good - nice leather, good quick-detach buckles, heavy stitching. They hard mount to the fender, and have a very close, nice line that flows with the bike very well. I was very pleased with...
...of the bracket on my bike. So after a little Yankee Engineering and G.I. ingenuity; I ended up using some fender washers, spacers and a couple of longer metric bolts. Bags are nice and secure.
How you like? You think they fit the Classic well? I especially like the buckles on the back.....
Another problem with my bags is the buckles. All the shiny stuff has dulled or the electroplating(if thats what it is) has flaked off.
If I ever buy a new R3 these will not be on the options list.
I got a set of Triumph leather panniers with my 08 rocket and they are falling to bits.
The metal studs that hold the buckles and straps on have nearly all broken and last week I took them to a luggage repairer who replaced all the studs(quite cheaply).

My initial impression is that they are a nicely built boot but very stiff. The buckles take a bit of working with but are a positive latch. At the end of the day they had started to soften/break in so I think they will be fine...

As far as lockability, if someone really wants my extra sweatshirt and is willing to open three quick-release buckles and velcro side thingies to get it, he/she can have it! I don't carry much worth locking away — rarely gone for more than a day, and if so, the...
