Another Exhaust Thread (Vandemon Headers) with Installation Pictures

I dry fitted everything without clamps or compound and all fits well. @chadster54321 had issues with fitting the forward mounting bolt of the right muffler because the bolt needs to be pushed through from the inside out due to the shape of the muffler and welds preventing the long bolt from...

Another Exhaust Thread (Vandemon Headers) with Installation Pictures

Removing the existing cat was very simple. There was a white mark on the O2 sensor nut and I counted 3 turns for removal as per manual but I don't quite understand the purpose for this as the sensor is tight at 3 turns. Maybe it's about the cable twisting and I need to spin it the other way 3...

Another Exhaust Thread (Vandemon Headers) with Installation Pictures

Yes I've had the Penner tune for a few months now and it felt like riding a new bike after flashing. Triumph won't see my bike again for a while, I just did the 10k service myself, but if they do they will be under strict orders to not mess with the ECU. I might even find a way to lock up that...

Another Exhaust Thread (Vandemon Headers) with Installation Pictures

My exhaust arrived today, no instructions because how hard can it really be, so I'll follow our maintenance manual's directions for all torque values. Everything came packaged extremely well in expanding foam packing cradling each plastic wrapped component gently in it's sturdy box. One does not...

    2.5 using oil

Now I have another set of new o-rings and the Permatex goop is setting up. I applied it to the sensor around the black plastic housing behind the o-rings so when I re-installed it the o-rings got pushed into the opening with the goop behind it effectively trapping the goop between o-rings and...

    2.5 using oil

After riding stick your finger up underneath that side cover on the left and you'll be able to feel the sensor and one of the bolts. If it's greasy/oily then that would be it and it only seeps out when the bike is running and cooks off on the hot case.

    2.5 using oil

I'm no engineer but have done enough mechaniking in my life to know a bad design when I see it. The case joints are all sealed with gaskets that compress when torqued down to provide a proper seal. Then Triumph decides to put not one but two o-rings at the lowest part of the bike obviously...

    2.5 using oil

It's leaking again so I'll be doing this once more. Since @Journeyman sent me an extra pair of o-rings I'll use those and this time I'm using goop on the flat surfaces of the gear position indicator. Don't know much about goop but the Permatex black oil resistant RTV gasket maker seems like a...

I'll try this one, there is another "original" version at 3x the cost. Eagle One Car Polish

The spiders might be innocent though, probably caused by my leathers.

    Spider Poop on Exhaust Headers

Those leave scratches even on stainless so that's a no no. Someone had mentioned oven cleaner in the past I think and I have one of those magic eraser pads somewhere.

    Spider Poop on Exhaust Headers

What methods are recommended to clean these black bits on the stainless without ruining the finish? I remember some discussion about this a while back but can't seem to find it.

    Mirrors...

Well so much for that idea. After paying closer attention to what I see in the bar end mirrors, which are flipped inward, I decided to cancel my order for the Highway Hawks. As is I see my elbows on the inside with good visibility where it matters and if I got those other ones I wouldn't see...

    Mirrors...

They'll have to do and I fully expect to have to adjust to them but those solid arms sticking up on the ends are bad news all the way around. I've spent decades splitting lanes like a maniac on California freeways and though I don't get the opportunity as much as I used to now when I do those...

    Mirrors...

I wound up getting the Highway Hawks and with shipping from Germany they came to $170 which is a lot but considering the alternatives they are well made, clear the reservoirs and I already spent 2k on a Vandemon slip on so what's another few buck at this point and I am after all buying all this...

    Mirrors...

I am about to do the same, I don't live in the city anymore so the mirrors haven't been too much of a nuisance but when things get tight they definitely are. I found the clamps on Amazon and will be looking for quality mirrors that are readily available in the US.

    Vandemon websites?

So I spoke with down under and the US site is legit, they're getting ready to ship my exhaust.
