    Brake pads...again ?

No don’t rest my foot on the pedal. And even with the amount of time it spends in the shop. He still gets more miles put on then most.

    Brake pads...again ?

That time again. Edsel is in need of new brake shoes on the rear. I swear this bike gives a whole new meaning to consumable goods. Worse than a printer going through toner

    Sad sight

Saw a sad thing this afternoon. New Rocket 3 up on a lift at the dealership stripped down and the engine removed. Was told it was leaking oil through porous casting. Not good!

You could try to drill a hole through the seat pan where the latch is to see if you can grab the cable to give it a pull and release the seat. Cable pulls towards the seat lock. If that doesn’t work sacrifice the seat pan. What have you got to lose?

In your first post use said you were missing the seat. I took it as that is was not there. If the seat is shot the easiest thing would be to sacrifice the seat pickup a used one. The side cover comes off by removing two bolts that are covered by the seat.

Took mine out this summer when I broke the key off in the lock. Had to dismantle the lock to remove the key (don’t ask). The lock is a very simplistic design. I think any locksmith would/could very easily make a key for it.

My original thoughts on the Rocket 3 Roadster over a year ago

In July my faithful Yamaha spontaneously combusted. It was a very sad day. But as they say every dark cloud has a silver lining. A bit of searching on the net and I found a new bike (a very special bike) at a dealership just a few miles away. So off we went, Patty and I to go view this...

    Changing tail light

Sorry I did’t read that thread. I was just stating that I put that LED into the light. Even with it being smoked it’s pretty darn bright. At least bright enough that I don’t feel like I’ve compromised my safety by changing from the stock tail light.
