    Selling Exhaust

Is the pipe still for sale? How much do you figure shipping would be? Is paypal acceptable payment?

    Hidden kill switch

I wouldn't say it warrants a death sentence, but being caught trespassing and having to stare down the business end of a .45 while waiting for the police to come may be enough to scare him straight. Even if no police are involved, a good serious scare by an armed homeowner may put him straight...

Anyone ever mounted a Triumph Top Box T2356395 on an R3T?

I am working on mounting a GL1200 trunk to my scooter. All I have left is to wire it in and finish two parts, then I will show pics. There will be a little fabricating needed this winter, but it isn't 100% necessary.

    Who are you??

not sure where to post this so mods please move if this is an inappropriate location; I do apologize. I live in a small town in North Dakota called Larimore. It is just 30 miles west of Grand Forks, ND; which itself is an hour north of Fargo, ND. This weekend while running our weekly errands...

    Pondering on making some lowers....

I have been pondering a set of lowers for some time now too. A build hasn't started as I am working a trunk right now that will need a planned re-work come winter, but my ideas have followed similar to yours. I have been thinking aluminum diamond plate. Thats really all the further I've made...

    harbor freight dolly problem

My touring didn't quite fit on the dolly end to end so I had the local machine shop cut me some square pipe so I could replace the side ties and have it 4" longer. There's a hole there now but the front tire is so big it doesn't matter. Fits great. Still rolls like 900lbs. Really wish it had...

    2008 R3T

I have triple K&Ns on my 08 and I hear a lot of chirping from the injectors. I've the TORS for exhaust yet also. The chirping is only low speed, at highway speeds I have to make an effort to hear it as the wind drowns it out.

    Fuel tank capacity

But where is that 5.9 gallons at? The bottom of the splash guard, the total capacity of all available space in the tank.... I am thinking I will just drain all the fuel from the tank and then top it up so I know where 'full' is.

    Fuel tank capacity

I was reading a few days ago about the Fuelbot 2.0 and the setup procedure. Part of that setup requires that you put the fill the tank to the capacity listed in the manual. I don't recall the capacity of the 08 Touring at the moment, but, how does one know at what point the tank is filled to...

    Thoughts about this?? (Radiator issue)

If you can find the leaking spot, your local welding shop should stock aluminum brazing rods. You could should be able to do this in your garage with a MAP gas torch. The only problem might be that the leak is on the side of a tube and not accessible.

harley touring air shocks on a r3t

I have a set of take-off Harley air shocks in the garage waiting to be mounted, along with the air system minus controls from a GL1500SE. Showa makes the shocks for Harley, same folks that make them for the Goldwings. I'm going to try to come up with an auto leveling system too. The biggest...

    Original TORS internal pics needed

There likely isnt much you can do. I have looked into gutting them with as little destruction as possible, and have concluded that it will be difficult to say the least!! Looking from behind, they seem to blend right into the outlet with a slight ledge that appears to only be tacked in place...

    Dealing with engine heat...

If it hasn't been mentioned already, exhaust wrap will help get some heat off the leg and out the back. A person could also make a big chrome heat shield to put over the headers again, but I can't see that looking nice. Some sort of a deflector for the radiator heat will help too, just have to...

    Thunderbird ECU Tune

A coworker of mine rides a Thunderbird Storm and also has Tune ECU for his bike. He has installed aftermarket silencers and loaded the correct ECU tune for those, but is now looking to do an airbox elimination kit. There is not a tune on the Tune ECU site for aftermarket silencers and pod...

White Plastic Ring, R# Touring Front Fork:

Don't glue it in. The dust seal will press in by hand quite easily. Do you have any kids that would have picked it out? They take a little work to get loose and up. I would be more inclined to think that it is some spacer from the shroud around the inner tube; up by the wind screen. Shine a...

    ECU update or PC V?

The D&D pipes have a bigger opening through the exhaust than the TORS do, so they probably flow a little better. They seem to be somewhat louder too. I don't own a pair, BTW, just gleened this all from poking around the web and considering swapping to D&D.

    IGNITION - POWER CONSUMPTION

I have a wattmeter for R/C use. If I ever find enough free time to look at my R3T I could hook it up, if possible, and measure the total watt draw. http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10786__HobbyKing_HK_010_Wattmeter_Voltage_Analyzer.html

    British Fuses Different?

Fuses are typically used to protect the wiring, not the circuit/component. 2x the rated load seems appropriate, I would go 1.5x out of paranoia, but really, I wouldn't worry about it. Electronics and electric theory are the same world wide and an amp is an amp. They will all blow/fail at...
