Rocket 3 vs the salt flats why it shouldn't have worked

I was there and I thought ‘Twas a chuck hole bent the rear wheel and sent it up into a rear wheel tank slapper, right?

It is great to hear your still upright and I look forward to a ride with Northwest crew again!

The divots were sure rough with traction and probably helped get the bike wobbling, also my right hand.

Initially I thought the divots might collapsed the rear wheel but now I'm thinking the bike flying in the air and landing on the wheel at least once maybe more caused the rear wheel to bend.

I’ll never forget my horror and screaming the “F” word repeatedly at the top of my lungs watching you ride that bucking bull . . . Until. I reckon you even made the 8 seconds! 👍👍👍
 
Or the rim could have failed, bent and caused the whole bounce and crash. I'm trying to find other bent wheels from the salt and not finding much. Just seems odd.
Would be nice IF the wheel manufacturer would do a stress test on a pressure machine to find out at what point the wheel would begin to crush. This would likely mostly clear this up.

Getting one made now, ill ask him, hes been making rims a long time, maybe he has crushed one, nice looking billet blocks he starts with.

I think Rob would have to contact them to if they (in England) would be interested enough to test it. My follow on question what pressure was the wheel exposed to? How much force to the gas tank get to break the welds off and throw it off the bike? I know it was violent enough on me😁😁
 
Intersting FYI in the video. At 30 seconds and again at 5:15 you can see a very nice bew Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro. The FYI is: V-Steel, who is the owner of the Record setting Rocket 3 GT Justdad rode in '24 and '25, is now the owner of that very 1200 Tiger GT Pro.
Technically it is the Triumph Tiger 1200 Alpine edition. It comes with fully heated seats and rear/blind spot radar over the normal GT Pro. The bags are now fitted as well. ;)

Funny enough, the Tiger is like the Rocket, it is a tune away from adding about 25hp because the throttle blades don't open up all the way.
