Strange front end wobble

Just brainstorming a bit....
Have you/are you doing any of the following:
- Added or removed anything to your handlebars? (changed your mirrors, for example).
- Altered the seating position (i.e. where or how you are sitting on the bike?)
- Added anything new to the rear of the bike that could have moved the C of G back slightly, or raised it slightly?

If you've got a sensitive front end, the smallest changes could potentially cause a bit of a resonant frequency which could be felt through the bars at certain times if the circumstances are right.
My knowledge of the 2.3 Rocket 111 is very limited, but I have heard of that model generating a speed wobble.

Does it go away if you put a bit of pressure on the rear brake?

If the front end checks out, tires, bearing and fork mounts, etc then Attomsplitter is correct in suspecting the rear end. I’ve seen this before where a rear issue displays as a front end shake.
Absolutely YES. The rear wheel bearings can cause tire shift and it's felt in the front end. The rear wheel has three sets of sealed bearings. The two inner bearings are seperated by a spacer tube and then the third bearing is part of the cush drive and goes into the bevel box when the wheel is mounted. With a 2004 model you'll need to get the correct bearing part numbers. but more than likely that's where you're problem is. This is the exploded drawing from a 2006 model standard RIII: The #2 item is CRITICAL to proper torqueing of the axle nut as it rests against the two inner bearing inner races.

Nothings changed mate, still same as when we rode out, apart from the milage it's racked up, really bizarre. Its to wet to go out and have another look or ride at moment, im thinking of getting it into just rockets with carl for a once over

Hey Fozzie.......How heavy is that new sissy-bar of yours?

Just throwing the net wide open, just in case....if you get my meaning...

Quick update on my wobble, 2 new tyres and full rear wheel bearings and it fixed! due to the bearings being knackered the rear and front tyres where fighting each other, causing wobble and uneven wear on front.
Glad it's now sorted out. I went thru 3 sets of rear wheel bearings in my 05 (over the 50K miles I rode it) and the bad bearing indicator was always a wobble when turning.
