Hey guys I'm going to ride to Colorado to visit my brother but i need to get there in 2 days and hang out for a few days then ride back in 2 days. Im looking at doing (4) 1k in a day rides over the course of 10 days. My biggest concern.... will my tires last, i will be putting on a new set before i set out. Ive driven this before and it can be done in a car but can it be done on a bike. Any good ideas from fellow rocket riders?

Not sure what you currently run but, I definitely wouldn't try it with Metzlers. Bridgestone Excedra Max seem to last well on the rear with great traction. Avon Cobra is probably the most popular front tire on the forum. Plus with those long hours in the saddle you might want to consider an Airhawk seat cushion.

Can't see why a new set of rubber won't last 4k.I would say the same spread it out and enjoy it with no pressure ain't that what it's all about enjoying the ride good luck and safe trip:thumbsup: Oh yea and don't forget to post some pictures

Tires should last fine..again if they're not Metzlers.
At 75 MPH, you're talking about 14 hrs saddle time + 6 gas/stretch stops @15 minutes each = 15.5 hrs. add in some stops for food and you're up to about 16-17 hrs a day minimum X two days in a row....each way. Can be done, but man that's gonna SUCK!! Good Luck. Biggest thing is if you start feeling it, regardless of scheduled stops, get off and take a quick walk/ caffeinated beverage of your choice.

I got 17,000 miles out of a front tyre with most of them on the Interstate. Very little braking or hard cornering means that the tyres goes round but doesn't get much wear. Your mileage may vary. A DS on the rear either before your trip or half way through when you suddenly realize that you have no tread and you can't get a motorcycle tyre that fits will get you home.

Be careful of those 1,000 mile days. Falling asleep at 70mph is not something that you would want to make a habit of.
