Probably won't interest anyone on here as you didn't know him. He would have been 54 today and yesterday was the first anniversary of his death. The only one of my mates that said yes to a ride on the R111 when I offered.

February last year in the fight of his life. The last 2 day ride he went on.

The last time I rode with him.

Looks to have been a fine Mate indeed.
Sorry for your loss, Bruce.
FWIW, I know how it feels!

I'll spare a quite thought for him and you, Bruce. I lost my best mate a couple of years ago. Life goes on but every so often I get a reminder of what a hole his passing has left in my life. Nice memories you have mate and a touching tribute.

Good onya Bruce , the mark of a good mate is that he's never forgotten. Lost my best mate in 1992 , he was my best man when I got married. We all used to get on the piss out at his Dads pub at Roadvale every year to mark his passing. Over the years it just turned into just another big piss up and blokes that didn't even know Marty were turning up .. I stopped going 15 years ago. Some of the fellas still get together and have a drink on the day he was killed .. or on St Patricks day , his birthday. We all wear something green on the day he died but none of us ever wear green on St Patricks day. He's never forgotten .. Mark his younger brother inherited his 1966 Triumph and is still riding it around. Often wonder if Marty were still with us if he'd be riding a Rocket .. he didn't like Harleys (to do with all the cockheads riding them more than the bikes to be honest ) RIP Peck and Marty.

Sorry for your loss Bruce, Best mates are hard to find, your doing him justice by keeping your memories of him alive. Good on you!
