    G’day from Australia

Better in every way? Absolute blasphemy. There is only one thing in this world that matters, and the original does it so much better than the new bike. And that is upsetting Harley owners.

    Yolo

Yes, you only live once. The length of time you live can be seriously impacted by how you ride your rocket though ;)

Cracked head, but not what you think

Just a quick update to those following. The head is off and the crack is not repairable. It could be welded from the outside which would stop the leak but the crack would continue to grow and would eventually break back through. The inside of the crack is absolutely inaccessible, I thought it...

    2005 ignition switch removal

Ahhhh, I see, Cheers. It is pretty much standard for torx bits now to have a hollow end to fit these. I get everyone's situation is different, but to me buying a $20 torx bit set would be infinitely easier than grind the heads off.

    Silver/Black engine interchangeability

Hi all, Just doing some investigation into the interchangeability of engine/parts. Long story short, I have a black engine (2011) which may have a stuffed head, and a mate of mine has a stuffed transmission in a silver engine (2005). I have found a second hand silver engine at a good price and...

Cracked head, but not what you think

Cheers, the amount of misfortune will depend on if the head can be repaired or not. If they can weld it up it's not the end of the world, if I need to find a replacement head I will be in for a serious drama though.

Cracked head, but not what you think

For those following the saga, here's a quick update. Turns out the head has been cracked for a while, once I started digging in I found some traces of old clear silsatic so someone has previously tried to seal the leak. I've owned the bike about two years and there has always been a tiny wet...

Cracked head, but not what you think

1 million percent correct. I've given it a clean and rode it, and ended up with a pool of oil in the corner which is a bit concerning. But I do need to properly clean the whole area and run the bike while watching the crack to see exactly what I am dealing with here. I've dealt with similar...

Cracked head, but not what you think

From what I can make out from the manual, parts book, and pictures on the internet there looks to be a single gallery sending oil to the head. From the look of it the gallery sits at the rear on the left hand side of the engine and my crack is on the rear at the right so hopefully the crack...

Cracked head, but not what you think

Thanks, this is actually exactly the reply I thought I would get (even though it is horrible news). I suspected I wasn't the first person to have this drama, the location and being that close to a head bolt made me very suspicious. The slowly increasing volume of oil leaking also made me worry...

Cracked head, but not what you think

Thanks mate, I've given it a good clean and it is dry all around the gasket but oil is pooling in the corner. SO unfortunately it looks like I've got a crack, I just hope it is oil seeping out from the cam cavity and not oil being pumped out through a crack that goes into a pressurized oil...

    Any Distinguished Gentlemen here?

That's rubbish on their behalf, the official DGR social media stuff features people on rockets so there is no way a rocket doesn't qualify. Must just be jealousy 🤣

Cracked head, but not what you think

Hi guys, I recently made a horrific discovery, the head on my 2011 Roadster is cracked. I initially thought I had a leaking rocker cover gasket, so I changed it as i had to check valve clearances anyway. I changed the gasket but there is still oil there, and the leak is slowly getting worse. On...
