    This. A broken detent spring will make the bike jump out of gear when you take the load off the gears (basically when your not accelerating). If you can't select any gear it is far more like the selector bolt

    This is where I would start. You would very likely see if you were burning or losing that much oil, it's most likely hiding in a different compartment it's not meant to be in.

    Rmoving injectors to clean

    Give it a good dose of injector cleaner and an Italian tune, it's way more fun than pulling injectors and is mostly like going to fix the issue. That's my philosophy anyway.
