  1. want to put a trunk on the r3 tourer

I didn't like the boxy look of the Harley trunk. I thought the lines of the Tsuyaku trunk fit the saddlebags of the tourer better.
  2. top box for tourer

I went with the Tsuyaku trunk I went with the Tsuyaku trunk. The lines seem to match the saddle bags better. In fact with the Hoppe Industies fairing, the "full dresser" looks like it came from the factory that way.
  3. Touring problems

I have 2008 R3T with 58K miles and no problems with ignition switch yet. Gene
  4. Battery

My battery is good for now, but I was wondering about the Lithium batteries. Any issues with vibration or heat compared with the Yuasa? Living in Arizona, the batteries tend to deteriorate a little quicker here. If the Li batteries would give me enough added longevity, I could...
  5. R3T Full Dresser Upgrade

Well, I dropped off my bike to my favorite shop yesterday. Bye, Bye to the old windscreen - Hello fairing. :D And just in time for AZ Bike week and a 3 day trip to NM on April 2. And I took off the windscreen before I ran it up there. Wow, it was a little windy! I can't imagine riding any...
  6. pnw meetup 2012

Going Ballistic I'll be on my sabbatical from work. So I'm going to do the Pacific Coast Highway as the route to go from Phoenix to Packwood. Already have my room reserved. :)
  7. Reliability, buying decision

Yeah, that was them. But I think that the real bandits were the RPM One company out of Florida that held $$ against the maint to be performed. Part of the contract went to TSS and the rest went to RPM one. They kept a portion for profit and the rest was supossed to be held to re-imburse TSS...
  8. R3T Full Dresser Upgrade

They are designed to fit the OEM windshield mounts on the touring. Should take all of 20 minutes to install. :) I'll have to do some research on the shocks. I had Pregressive 440 HD's on my old Nomad and loved them. The 444 has an additional feature where it is supposed to respond to the...
  9. R3T Full Dresser Upgrade

I've finally saved up my money and decided to fork a chunk of it over to upgrade my 2008 R3T (41K) to full dresser. :D On order: Hoope Industries Quadzilla Fairing with upgraded stereo and chrome upgrades - $2500 Tsukayu Touring Trunk with luggage rack - $710 Upgraded GPS Garmin Zumo 660...
  10. Reliability, buying decision

Hey Dave! I thought we fixed up your ingition switch good as new with my soldering iron. :D The only problem I've had with my 2008 R3T (41,000 miles) is a gasket that cost $200. I think I had the TPM problem fixed under recall as well but nothing else out of pocket. The REAL problems...

Hellfire, it's "Cookie Monster want cookie!!" and "Animal want WOMAN!!!":D
  12. Map for TORS?

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I just had my 2008 R3T (I have the TORS pipes) in for it's 30K and one of the things they did is upgrade the OEM map to 020366 (they said that the old map came back "not in database", so they installed the upgrade). From OEM_Tune_list...
  13. Close call yesterday...

When I took the Total Control Clinic, they had us doing performance stops (yup, I took my Rocket to the clinic :D). The trick with the front was to keep applying more and more pressure to the lever (gradually, of course). At the end, it should be almost touching the handlebar. It surprised...
  14. Service Manual - Standard, Classic & Touring

Hey that gave me a good idea. :) I put the PDF copy on an old usb drive I had laying around. Now it will be in the bike, just in case.
  15. Tiregard wireless pressure monitor

I was wondering if anyone has tried the TireGard Tire Pressure Monitoring System on a Touring model. Big Bike Parts, Inc - Aftermarket Motorcycle Accessories & Parts Specifically, I'm looking to find out: 1. If, given the 90 degree bend in the stem, there are any clearance issues with the...
