@peter k , while these throttle locks are great for very short periods to give your hand a rest, they shouldn't be used as a substitute for cruise control. Have a look at post #3 in this thread. I took mine off after that incident. If I can find it I'll send it to you, but it does require you to be able to wind off the throttle before grabbing the brake, which isn't as easy as it sounds in a panic stop situation where you instinctively grab the brake.

I sure agree with this and would never use a screw type system!
The simple GoCruise system shuts down immediately if/when the front brake is activated and/or the throttle is backed off.
