ZEUS

Yes sir, that sums it up very well indeed!

Sad News Indeed, always sad when we loose one of our family, but I would say he was more than just a loved pet probably more like member of the Flesh and Blood Family

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. Zeus was very special to us. All of our dogs were obtained from pet rescues or something similar. Zeus was 3 when we rescued him and we had him for 7 years. He had gone through 5 other families and from what I gathered he was a handful. We took him in and worked with him and in a short time he was aware that these suckers were going to keep him. He tried stuff from time to time but he always came around. He had a tough time filling in the "paws" of our previous Dane, Caleb, who I had to put down a month earlier but, while never replacing Caleb, Zeus made his own place in our hearts. I usually woke up with him looking into my face about 2" from my nose but he wasn't there today. That was tough. We had him cremated and will receive his remains tomorrow. Again, I thank all of you. It means so much.

MY AUNT SENT US A E MAIL ABOUT THIS HAPPIEST DOG IN THE WORLD WHEN THIS SOLDIER CAME HOME 6 MONTHS BEING GONE VERY HEARTWARMING WILL GET MY SON OVER AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST IT CUZ I HAVE NO IDEA HOW PAIN IN THE BUTT WHEN YOU GOT THEM BUT STILL VERY SPECIAL

I had the privilege of having 2 Danes in my life, a Fawn and a Harlequin. They both came from Dane Rescue and although they never gave up their dignity I was sure that they appreciated having a permanent, loving home. It was very difficult letting them go when the time came.

My condolences on the loss of your buddy, take comfort in knowing that he had a great life with you.

Steve

We are about 3 months into our great dane puppy. I've been amazed how awesome of a pet he has been and quickly making his way into our hearts. Sorry for your loss.

Very sorry. For your loss.
Being a pet person, I have been there and it is tough.

Have you ever read the poem "the rainbow bridge".
I'll post it tomorrow from my pc, a wonderful poem.
