G'day guys and dolls,
My girlfriend is so enamoured with riding around on the Rocket that she now wants to get her own bike. (This is a girl who no more than 8 weeks ago held on like a koala and squealed so loud I could hear her over the sound of the Thunderbird 1700 fitted with hogslayers that we were riding at 150km full tilt through the only tunnel in Perth).
LAMS allows for 200hp/tonne so opens up bikes like the Ducati 659 and more specifically for S-girl (formerly known as Mrs Hunt or Traction Control) the Yammie XVS650. She sat on both and the V-star 650 custom is what she wants. Anyone here had any experience with this bike in particular or the V-Star range more broadly? I've read plenty of good reviews but have never owned a Yamaha of any description so any input on the bike and dealing with Yama Aust. is welcomed.
For the record she is ergonomically suited to the Yama as opposed to the Ducati - I was very disappointed for myself!! The 659 Monster is a great fun bike and I would have been only too happy to 'run it in' for her
