What is this bolt for?

My guess is it is the bolt that drains the channel running between the sump screens. The 1st gen Rockets have two of those bolts. I actually remove them when changing the oil and get almost another cup of oil which will not drain through normal drain plugs. The bolt does not have a gasket as it threads in like a tapered pipe thread bolt.

By sump screens is that the same as sump chambers? Thanks for that. Was just curious. Since not included in oil change will leave it.

Those are serve plugs not to be removed on the older rockets.
Prob

I guess! Maybe Warp can confirm as it looks like the two corner drain bolts fall under the sump screen area and the third is under the oil pickup area. These two plugs seem to run in the channel between the normal drain bolts. Probably should not remove them, but I have been draining them on every oil change for six years with no problem. Gets out quite a bit of oil, just tighten until snug and don't use Triumph recommended torque when reinstalling.

@maurice

Finally I found the picture of the sump in the manual - and it seems you have found one of the rare screws with no function at all. It does not keep the sump in position, It does hold any filter or so... it's just there...

Also the drawing of the sump gives no real usable information. The screws are shown, but there is no indication of the funtionality...
