A friend of mine in the UK Clubwith an almost new R3GT Storm has bought a Werkes Exhaust, that has an O2 sensor socket.

Apparently, he tells me the UK bikes have TWO O2sensors ! (that seems strange), and he asks if it's possible to get some form of O2 delete solution for the second sensor. Has anyone got any opinion of this ?

To delete the sensors you'ld have to use an option in TuneECU or other ECU programming module. I did that on my old RIII and plugged the sensor bung, on the new bikes with locks on the ECU it may not be possible until the ECU can be unlocked.

Since Euro5+ it is common to have two O2 sensors before/after cat.
You can weld in an adapter for a second sensor. Not that big of a deal.
Tune ECU won´t work on the Storm models.

When working with 2 sensors (cars/trucks California standards) if you (remove or if it is not working) the second o2 then it sets a code because it is there for detecting problems the 2nd o2 is to check to see if the system is working proper.
in the USA they seldom have two sensors maybe real late models but California has had the two sensor setup which does cause a problem if the second does not work.
just wondering if anyone has changed that second sensor for an electrical resistor plug and would that work.

Thank you for this, I'm pretty sure it's a European thing because of the Euro 5+ requirements. This answers my question, adding an adaptor for the 2nd sensor seems the way to go 👍😎

I also wonder will it work at all with the Storm ECU ? With two sensors before/after the Cat - how's that going to work with no Cat on the Werkes system ? With the ECU not working with TuneECU, all I can for see are a load of problems. All said and done, Euro 5+ effectively stops you changing the exhaust ?

Sorta the intent of requiring makers to lock the ECU.

Absolutely, big brother gets one step closer. It seems like the EU regulations are trying to stop you doing anything to the ECU/Exhaust for emission reasons. It won't be long before they introduce emissions testing for bikes on the annual MOT test in the UK 😟 - hopefully, it'll be only for Euro5+ compliant bikes !
