Owning a 790 Bonnieville I can relate to that. Bonnie's have optimistic speedo's like the Rocket. Without the sidecar on I had mine over 110 indicated a couple times. Once it's past 100, it's a slow grind up. Of course the old 650 Meriden bikes..to get to the 'Ton'....100 mph was an acheivement.
I imagine my 790 T100 makea a bit more power than the 900 Thrux in stock form. My 790 has Kehin CR Racing carbs with cutaway slides, the head is flowed and ported and polished plus I have a set of competition cams and the custom headers plus I'm up one tooth on the countershaft.
Riding the Bonnie is like riding a bicycle compared to the Rocket. I find the Bonnie to be tiny without the sidecar.....Maybe I should take the outfit out to the salt flats and set a speed record...I'm pretty sure there is no established record for a 790 Hinkley bike with a sidecar....There are only 2 in existence.
Sounds and looks like a blast. Kudo's to Engles.
