Tundra Starter???

My 05 has recently started doing the dead selenoid click after I had been running interstate for a while. After looking around a little bit, I found a repair kit for the selenoid on E-Bay for about $10. To make a long story short, it listed a 2000-2009 Toyota Tundra, with the 4.7 motor as one of the vehicles this kit would fit. This led me to look up a starter for a Tundra. These are available for under $100 at most part stores. Looking at pictures, the starter and selenoid should bolt to our gear reduction units. Has anyone tried these starters yet?

There have been several members who upgraded starters by using starter motors from Toyota Solara

Nope!

I finally picked one up and tried it. The guts from the selenoid are the same, but the starter turns the opposite direction from the Rocket starter.

Do a forum search for "Starter" you will find several threads on it. They include the Denso and Autozone part numbers
