there is a mine of information on this subject right on this forum check the search engine .. personally I went through all the rigamarole of choosing the so called best for my special battery charger guess what ! it turns out the difference is basically in the marketing not the performance of course some will disagree and that's ok my advice do not spend inordinate amount of cash on the charger keep that money for a battery when it is time to change (24 months away) and get the middle of the road trickle charger
Others might be a bit cheaper, but, for me, this is the brand to go with! They've never failed me and are available for just about any type and size use you might have: About Us - Batterytender.com
Well it's Thursday night and i have nothing better to do than add my 2 cents... I have two, the Battery Tender Battery Tender Plus 12 Volt 1.25 Amp Battery Charger: BatteryMart.com for the Rocket and one that was given to me by a friend some no name brand for the RK..they both do the job well. When i first got the Rocket i used the kill switch to shut down the bike, on a long trip to Maine leaving the light on. My friend always carried his battery tender and it bailed me out the next morning. It was a bright sunny day and by the time night fall came the light was too dim to notice in the dark.
thanks for the input,i have never used one either but think i will go with the battery tender model as most people seem to think it does a good job.
again thanks
I just got one myself. It's the only way I can be certain the bike will start when the temp drop below freezing. Has a permanent plug that sticks out just under the seat and I just connect it up every night. Best $40 I've spent.
