In the heatwave we have been having the tar has melted under the chippings. I had a major oops moment on the very same corner the crash occurred.
I hate freshly surfaced roads. Here at the moment they surface and leave at least two days to set a bit before white-lining otherwise the tar and paint mix.

The Discovery has just had the inner wheel arches bitumen sprayed for free though :D - It wont stick to the engine - it's covered in too much oil. :whitstling:

Heartfelt condolences to family... to friends... to all... R.I.P...

In the last 24 hours in the Tulsa area there has been two motorcycle accidents. One was a fatal accident, Lady was going down on a bike and a car hit her and kept going. Image that. Must have been a #ell of a phone conversation going on:(:(:(:(:( other occurred at a intersection involving a Truimph. Lady got a ticket motorcyclist got a broken leg. Lady was at fault. News did report that the lady in the car was OK no injuries. That's nice to know:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Everyday coming and going to work have witness road rage of various degrees. Not from the people in the hot rod cars but the little cutie pie's in the small SUV's . Go figure. Had one last week just flat cut me off requiring some braking and fancy maneuvers to keep from getting hit. Got up beside the car and guess what we see. A cell phone pointed at me. Figured she got a good shot of me flipping the bird. I can understand some of what goes on when you consider how some folks ride. Seen some real dumb moves made by motorcyclist but come on. You see a older guy with helmet and gloves riding responsible does not give you a open invitation to $uck with him.

Our loved ones (heck, evil ones too) live as long as we remember.

A small freighter in open ocean experienced a major malfunction and went down. The small crew escaped just in time safely into their functional but otherwise bare lifeboat -- no radio call was made.

As time wore on, they told jokes.

After a while they ran out of the jokes everyone knew, and took to numbering them.

At various times, someone would break the silence with, "Number eleven." Folks would think for a minute, and break out laughing.

Similarly, here, there are some folks past who were so well remembered, that you may see someone post to an old thread with something like, "Today, is four years since Pete passed on. We remember him fondly."

All remembrances welcome, whenever they arrive.

The annual Devon Air Ambulance run took place yesterday , a group of riders were heading west past Okehampton when an R3 was in a head on with another bike . The r3 rider died at the scene and his female passenger and the rider of the other bike were airlifted to hospital in a critical condition ! I don't know if the R3 rider was a member here , his name as yet , I don't think has been released ? . It's ironic , 2 air ambulances were called to the scene certainly costing more than the charity run could ever have raised !
