You have two TPS 's.
One on each end of the fuel rail assembly.
The one on back is the primary I believe
and the one at the front is the secondary.
if I'm wrong, somebody please correct me.
I thought mine was bad again,
even though it's only been a year since Triumph brought out the new ones,
That or a pinhole air leak I couldn't find.
Took it in and they scanned it.
Seems my first throttle body had got itself out of sync.
Had the customary high idle.
I've since zip tied the TPS wires down,
where they aren't just floppin around in the breeze.
So far, so good.

That sounds right to me skip.
Mine just went out today, riding along pull in clutch and wow 2500 rpm.
kill the engine, start up again and all is fine for a while then it starts acting up again.
Ordered new TPS today.

"Blue is new"...by that I mean look inside the business end of the TPS. If it is blue, it is of the new and improved design. If it is black, then it is new old stock(you'd be installing a new part, but of the same design that failed) Just something to think about.

with just over 50k I've installed 3. everytime Triumph mechanic said the TPS is good, his meter said it was good so it was good. The last time I told him to buy one for me and just install it. when he did the bike ran like it used to. He picked up the cost. It was a good gamble and he learned that the meter isn't always right. I learned this info from this and the COM. site.

tps again'

I replaced mine about 35000 miles ago. A while back when starting and driving the idle was up to 2000 rpm plus. I took out the crank sensor cleaned it and everyting has been fine again for the last 2000 miles. (I do have a new tps that I carry in my bag just in case)

This one was the second one replaced. I'm not sure which one was replaced the first time but both times it was replaced with the new one. Runs great now.
