Thinking about exhaust options

I really like Paul’s system, but have toyed with the idea of putting my dual Vandamon cans on his header. Hmm…
For sound, looks, or both? How loud is the PB muffler compared to the Vandamon? I tried the Werkes and ended up selling to another happy user here, as I find that even with ear plugs I can't take the sound on long rides. I think PB can modify the sound somewhat according to your wishes. Just want a little more grwwwwl than stock....

Oh, totally for the looks/balance of pipes on both sides. You might like the Vandemon pipes. They seem to have a lower tone and not as loud as the PB pipe, the PB pipe is very reasonable until you crack it open, then it is pretty loud. Kevin, Gary or Norm might have a better idea because the sound is different behind me.

FYI: The Viking Exhaust by Paul Bryant can be ordered with different length muffler. He will make it standard length or any length you preferer. The silencer in the standard length muffler is only about 5 inches long. I packed the silencer on @vsteel bike with muffler fiberglass packing and it helped reduce the sound just a little bit, but noticeable. If you ordered a longer muffler with a longer silencer, I may help even more.

The PB pipe is very reasonable if you wanna cruise through town/past cops they are not obnoxious whatsoever. But it will definitely bark/howl when you crank it open. It is an awesome system!

Thank you, edgeofinsanity! That is exactly what I have in mind. At least now I know it can be done.

The Paul Bryant header is beautiful for sure, but I don't see any heat shields on there at all.

Everyone is going to have their own list of priorities when upgrading a bike. Some will want max power at all costs. Some just want more volume. To each their own, I say. I'm thankful that we have so many options available.
It looks like my pipes don't have heat shields but they do, they take the exact shape of the header.
