The Metzler flat spot

My "new" Metzler has about 1500 mi on it and is about halfway gone to the point that it has the flat band in the middle. It's already starting to get the weird handling sensation. Has anyone ever tried to round one up ?

nah...why bother? just go darkside and you'll always have the flat spot. You get used to it plus you don't get comments about "chicken strips".

I get about 10K out of my rear Metz. They do get a flat spot but that is just the way the tire wears. If you are experiencing some type of handling sensation, something else surely must be amiss.

got 7500 miles on the rear Mez (might be due to softer tarmac in the sun) and the flat spot tracks a bit but still going ok might get around 9000 miles I'm thinking

I pretty much get flat spots on all of my motorcycle tires (I do a lot of straight line highway commuting). I wish they fabricated motorcycle tires with extra thickness of the rubber compound in the middle of the tire, so they would wear longer.....
