Snow at least you can see. It is natures way of saying -
 
We get an inch of snow over here and the country grinds to a halt! You guys get proper snow and are probably prepared for it, hats off to you and i am jealous of where you live, beautiful, especially under a foot of snow
 
I met quite a few Brit expats in Benidorm Spain during port visits back in the early 80s. They were all loving life. It was my favorite Mediterranean port. Beautiful weather, beautiful beaches and beautiful topless babes on the beaches. Great discos too.
